About Toastmasters

What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International is basically a club offering personal development that operates in over 80 countries across the globe. The Coffs Harbour club is supported by and affiliated with Toastmasters International. The club consists of local members and a locally appointed executive much like many local not-for-profit organisations. You have the opportunity to take an active role in running the club if you choose.

What Happens At The Meetings?

Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. The meetings have a set agenda starting at 7:00 pm sharp and generally conclude before 9:30 pm. The meeting is designed to provide members with the opportunity to practice leadership and public speaking skills in a supportive environment.

How Do I learn?

At Toastmasters you learn by doing. New members receive a development pack covering leadership and speaking assignments. This is a self-paced program and an internal mentor initially supports new members. Experienced members evaluate assignments and offer points for improvement as well as reinforcing already developed skills.
