Membership Information
What is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters International is basically a club offering personal development and operating in over 80 countries across the globe. The Coffs Harbour club is supported by and affiliated with Toastmasters International. The club consists of local members and a locally appointed executive much like many local not for profit organisations. You have the opportunity to take an active role in running the club if you choose.
What happens at the meetings?
Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd and 5th (if there is one) Tuesday of each month. The meetings have a set agenda starting at 7.00pm sharp and generally conclude before 9.30pm. The meeting is designed to provide members with the opportunity to practice leadership and public speaking skills in a supportive environment.
How do I learn?
At Toastmasters you learn by doing. New members receive a development pack covering leadership and speaking assignments. This is a self-paced program and an internal mentor initially supports new members. Experienced members evaluate assignments and offer points for improvement as well as reinforcing already developed skills.
What are the benefits of joining?
I think most of us started to improve our speaking skills and face our fear of speaking in public. It would be fair to say that most stay because they enjoy the social atmosphere and meeting interesting people and making new friends. You will also get member access to a variety of resources through the web site.
Who do I contact to find out more?

How much does it cost to join?
The current membership levy is $100 a year. Where would you get personal development training for that?
